Colin Duncan

Obituary of Colin Brian Duncan

Colin Duncan

March 3, 1945 – March 17, 2024

Peacefully in his sleep.

Colin is survived by Susan, his wife of 59 years (he would have joked it was three consecutive life sentences and Susan would have rolled her eyes after hearing this for the hundredth time).

He is also survived by his two sons - Justin (Kaitlyn) and Hadley; and 5 grandkids - Hugo, Lennox, Arielle, Xander and Maeve. He loved them all dearly.

Colin was born in Reading, Berkshire, UK and started a long career as an instrumentation technician through an apprentice with the British Atomic Energy Authority. On moving to Canada in 1967, he started work at the Chalk River Laboratories in Deep River and eventually worked troubleshooting HVAC and other automation technical issues at Honeywell for over 30 years, including building most of the fire alarm system for Copps Coliseum in his basement workshop. Colin also worked as a DJ on weekends, playing music at hundreds of weddings and other events over the years.

Colin’s legendary woodworking skills left his grandkids with heirloom toys to pass on through the generations.

He loved a song too loud, a good laugh, a solid piece of oak to work, a stiff drink (or 3) and a good bargain (he loved to see a bill but never loved to pay it). We’ll always miss you and will never forget your wealth of DIY knowledge, your inappropriate jokes and your love of life Pops.

A memorial service will take place at Tallman Funeral Homes (3277 King St. Vineland) on Sunday March 24th, at 1:00pm.
