Obituary of Viola May Kennedy

Viola May Kennedy, (nee Friesen), passed away peacefully on Sunday November 15, 2015 at Tabor Manor Nursing Home. She was predeceased by her husband, Vivian Kennedy. She was a loving mom to Carrie (Gary), Beth (Ted) and Patty. She was a wonderful Grandma to Marie Harrison, Jessie Harrison, Brittany Chisholm and Sean Chisholm. Viola was the youngest of 8 children, born in Saskatoon, SK in 1929. She moved to St. Catharines in 1942 at the age of 13. The Friesen family came in search of jobs, to escape the devastation of the drought in the west. Of her 7 siblings, Grace Wichert, and Bill Friesen remain to mourn her. She was predeceased by her brothers Edwin, Lawrence and Peter, and sisters Ella and Clara. Viola always had a kind word and smile for everyone she encountered. She loved freely, and gave lavishly. We know she is in heaven, reunited with the Saviour she loved, and the family she missed. Donations to St. Catharines Community Living would be appreciated by the family.
